The Ensemblist is an inside look at the experience of being a Broadway performer- from the first rehearsal through performing eight shows a week and beyond. Whether you’re an experienced theatre professional or a passionate fan, The Ensemblist will give you the opportunity to get to know new performers and the great work they do onstage, while also shedding light on some of the hidden innerworkings of the Broadway experience. Created and hosted by Mo Brady (The Addams Family, SMASH) and Nikka Graff Lanzarone (Chicago, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown), The Ensemblist is the only podcast that shows you Broadway from the inside out.

Tell us about a moment where you felt creatively fulfilled in the last year. Doing Kiss Me, Kate with Darko Tresnjak and Peggy Hickey. Darko has a way of cultivating magic by making rehearsal fun, safe, and inspiring. He trusted me completely with my version of this character (which was not the norm) and let me explore all possibilities. Then he would kindly shape the scene into his vision. Peggy made me feel like I was the best dancer on the planet, which made me fearless and willing to try anything. I love it when I get to do what I was meant to do and not try to fit into someone else’s mold.

Talk about a moment (any moment, not just this past year) where you felt successful. I booked my first role in a film this year. I was rehearsing for a show in Houston and had to fly to NY for a day to shoot my final day on the film. I felt very cool.

What is a career goal of yours for 2016? Shoot a pilot.

What fuels your creativity? Movement. It’s taken me a long time to figure this out, but I am a dancer first and foremost. I need to move! If I get to start my day with a dance rehearsal or a yoga class, I can do anything!
