The Ensemblist is an inside look at the experience of being a Broadway performer- from the first rehearsal through performing eight shows a week and beyond. Whether you’re an experienced theatre professional or a passionate fan, The Ensemblist will give you the opportunity to get to know new performers and the great work they do onstage, while also shedding light on some of the hidden innerworkings of the Broadway experience. Created and hosted by Mo Brady (The Addams Family, SMASH) and Nikka Graff Lanzarone (Chicago, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown), The Ensemblist is the only podcast that shows you Broadway from the inside out.

Reed's Episode: Technomania! (#10)

Where are you from? Saint Paul, MN.

Broadway credits: Spider-man: Turn Off The Dark, The Addams Family, Wicked.

How did you hear you’d booked your first Broadway show? I was called directly by the head company manager of Wicked while I was home teaching a summer intensive for the Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists.

What is your favorite event in the Broadway community? When someone makes their Broadway debut. There is something so special about getting to see someone fulfilling that dream; and it is a credit no one can ever take away from them, they are now a Broadway Performer. That is always a big and very special event in my eyes.

What’s something about Broadway that fascinates you? The community.  It’s fascinating to me how there can be just so darned many ridiculously talented people in our community. Half the time I’m just standing there, mouth agape, in awe of those around me.

What, other than theatre, has inspired you recently?  Tim Keller’s podcasts, always. Wow.

If I could have coffee with any living person, it would be… Mark Burnett

If I could trade places with anybody for a day, I would choose… Chris Hadfield (while still Commander of the International Space Station).

To be successful in this business, it takes… Preferably talent.  Beyond that, a strong work ethic, persistence, and the ability to laugh at oneself.

Tell us a secret. These questions were… Sent from my iPhone.
