Where are you from? Okemos, Michigan
Broadway credits: Kinky Boots, Ghost, Billy Elliot, White Christmas
How did you hear you’d booked your first Broadway show? I was in a cast van on my way to Paper Mill Playhouse for tech rehearsal of Oklahoma in 2008. My agent called and I queened out. Megan Sikora (one of the females I admire most in this business) was sitting directly in front of me, smiling ear to ear. It was one of the most incredible moments of my life.
What is your favorite event in the Broadway community? Broadway Bares! It’s the one time of year the non-theater gays truly appreciate all of the studly Broadway boys :D. All the other days they think we’re just poor starving artists. At least this night we’re starving by choice! :D
What’s something about Broadway that fascinates you? Work begets work. Who you meet on one job can establish connections that lead to other jobs.
What, other than theatre, has inspired you recently? I’m getting really into youtube video bloggers. People like Tyler Oakley are completely self made internet celebrities and advocates. It takes hard work and ingenious creativity to create a solid fan base, and I admire that.
If I could have coffee with any living person, it would be… Shirley MacLaine. I think she’s brilliant. And GORG.
If I could trade places with anybody for a day, I would choose… Oprah. She gets to interview some of the most amazing people in the world. I want to sit down one on one with the Obamas, Beyonce, and Meryl Streep. In that order.
To be successful in this business, it takes… Brains and talent. Lola had it right in Damn Yankees…
Tell us a secret. I’m obsessed with video games. It’s a problem.
