Where are you from? Davenport, Iowa
Broadway credits: KING AND I, NINE, SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE, WOMEN ON THE VERGE OF A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN, FOLLIES, THE VISIT.
How did you hear you’d booked your first Broadway show? Didn’t know it would be my first Broadway show, but after flying out to LA audition for Yul Brynner to play Mrs Anna opposite him, I took the red eye back to NY and got the phone call that afternoon (24 hours after the audition) that I got the part. A year and a half later, after an LA run and a Nation wide tour, we opened on Broadway!
What is your favorite event in the Broadway community? Favorite event would have to be the time of the year when BC/EFA raises $$ at the end of every show. Standing with the bucket and hearing from the audience as they dump tons of $$$ into the bucket…GREAT!!!
What’s something about Broadway that fascinates you? I LOVE the family-supportive feeling one gets n this business. You create and instant family based on trust and then move on to the next but cumulatively over the years it all becomes one BIG FAMILY.
What, other than theatre, has inspired you recently? Recent inspiration is reading a small pamphlet about the Dying Process written by a Hospice nurse with 30 years of experience. It should be required reading for anyone dealing with loved ones and friends who are terminally ill.
If I could have coffee with any living person, it would be… Coffee with a living person? How ‘bout martinis with Peter Brooke??
If I could trade places with anybody for a day, I would choose… I wouldn’t trade places with anyone at this point in my life….
To be successful in this business, it takes… Survival of the Fittest attitude…always be prepared for anything but EXPECT nothing !
Tell us a secret. Secret? Wait for my tell-all autobiography :)
