The Ensemblist is an inside look at the experience of being a Broadway performer- from the first rehearsal through performing eight shows a week and beyond. Whether you’re an experienced theatre professional or a passionate fan, The Ensemblist will give you the opportunity to get to know new performers and the great work they do onstage, while also shedding light on some of the hidden innerworkings of the Broadway experience. Created and hosted by Mo Brady (The Addams Family, SMASH) and Nikka Graff Lanzarone (Chicago, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown), The Ensemblist is the only podcast that shows you Broadway from the inside out.

Kirsten's Episode: Life on Tour (#44)

Where are you from? Clarksburg, WV

Broadway credits: You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Urinetown, The Pajama Game, Grease, High Fidelity, Shrek, Elf, A Christmas Story, Annie

How did you hear you’d booked your first Broadway show? It was about an hour after my final callback for YAGMCB. I was in the living room of the one bedroom apartment I shared with three other people when my agent called. My best friend Eric Sciotto was there and we jumped up and down for what felt like 30 minutes.

What is your favorite event in the Broadway community? Collecting for BC/EFA

What’s something about Broadway that fascinates you? That the bathrooms are so small.

What, other than theatre, has inspired you recently? The thought that we have an OBLIGATION to ourselves and to each other to be happy! It’s not a choice. It’s an obligation! That’s freaking inspirational, right???

If I could have coffee with any living person, it would be… Amy Poehler

If I could trade places with anybody for a day, I would choose… Brian Lehrer - host of the Brian Lehrer Show on WNYC. I’m an NPR junkie and it must feel awesome to be that smart.

To be successful in this business, it takes… an incredible amount of determination and persistence. Talent also helps.

Tell us a secret. I often have very realistic dreams of being Princess Leia where I’m a badass with a lightsaber.
