Where are you from? Aurora, Colorado
Broadway credits: Mamma Mia!, Kinky Boots
How did you hear you’d booked your first Broadway show? I was at Angus McIndoe where my roommate at the time used to work. I was dropping by to hang out because I was supposed to leave for the Mamma Mia! tour to play “ensemble/ US Sky” in a few days. I got a call from my agent, who told me I should sit down and the proceeded to tell me that I would not be going on tour. Instead, they wanted me to stay in NYC and play Sky on Broadway! Cue: screaming and champagne.
What is your favorite event in the Broadway community? Broadway Bares is always fun. Even if I’m unable to attend, it’s always fun to see everyone trying to get into the best shape possible, followed by everyone pigging out immediately after the event is over! Plus-it’s a fun night and a great cause.
What’s something about Broadway that fascinates you? The history. I love learning about all the previous shows that have been in each theater and whose dressing room was where. I also love hearing stories about the legends and who they were backstage during a certain run-how they behaved and/or what their routines were.
What, other than theatre, has inspired you recently? Music & Podcasts! I love discovering new music/artists. This week, I am loving Kate Tempest. And besides The Ensemblist (obviously) I am loving the Radiolab podcasts…it satisfies my inner (and outer) nerd and makes me feel like I’m learning things.
If I could have coffee with any living person, it would be… Paul McCartney
If I could trade places with anybody for a day, I would choose… Thom Yorke. He’s both a rockstar and a bit of a weirdo.
To be successful in this business, it takes… Perseverance/Longevity….it’s a marathon-not a sprint.
Tell us a secret. I was born in a Toyota.
