The Ensemblist is an inside look at the experience of being a Broadway performer- from the first rehearsal through performing eight shows a week and beyond. Whether you’re an experienced theatre professional or a passionate fan, The Ensemblist will give you the opportunity to get to know new performers and the great work they do onstage, while also shedding light on some of the hidden innerworkings of the Broadway experience. Created and hosted by Mo Brady (The Addams Family, SMASH) and Nikka Graff Lanzarone (Chicago, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown), The Ensemblist is the only podcast that shows you Broadway from the inside out.

Julia's Episode: Ensemble Musicals (#31)

Where are you from? New York City not born, but bred

Broadway credits: Lennon, Wicked

How did you hear you’d booked your first Broadway show? I was in New Orleans when I heard I booked my first one, but didn’t end up doing it.  The process for Lennon was super low stress- one audition, one callback, and a call from my agent.

What is your favorite event in the Broadway community? Gypsy of the Year and Easter Bonnet can really make your heart feel like it might explode.

What’s something about Broadway that fascinates you? Half hour and the time leading up to it. There is an energy that is there (and sometimes has to be found) that is unlike anything else. A whole group of people going about their rituals to make something happen for a group of strangers.

What, other than theatre, has inspired you recently? travel always inspires me…gets me out of my comfort zone

If I could have coffee with any living person, it would be… Stephen Spielberg

If I could trade places with anybody for a day, I would choose… an Olympic athlete

To be successful in this business, it takes… breath. Constant breath.

Tell us a secret. How very dare you.
