The Ensemblist is an inside look at the experience of being a Broadway performer- from the first rehearsal through performing eight shows a week and beyond. Whether you’re an experienced theatre professional or a passionate fan, The Ensemblist will give you the opportunity to get to know new performers and the great work they do onstage, while also shedding light on some of the hidden innerworkings of the Broadway experience. Created and hosted by Mo Brady (The Addams Family, SMASH) and Nikka Graff Lanzarone (Chicago, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown), The Ensemblist is the only podcast that shows you Broadway from the inside out.

Elena's Episode: Les Misérables (#22)

Where are you from? Chagrin falls, Ohio.

Broadway credits: Check out for all those bway credits. :)

How did you hear you’d booked your first Broadway show? I got a call from the company manager of Les Mis. Agent-less me had dropped my headshot off at the stage door.

What is your favorite event in the Broadway community? I love Broadway Barks!!! All those cute little puppies!!!!

What’s something about Broadway that fascinates you? The Broadway community. How we all sort of understand one another and how we as a community stand apart from the rest of the “normal folks”.

What, other than theatre, has inspired you recently?  I’ve really, in the last few years, been inspired by Yoga. It offers me a way to calm and quiet my mind and is very challenging yet restorative. I also have started teaching voice lessons and I find it to be incredibly rewarding and informative. It’s inspired me to be a better singer and mean what I say at all times.

If I could have coffee with any living person, it would be…Pope Francis. Or the Dalai Lama.

If I could trade places with anybody for a day, I would choose… Beyoncé.

To be successful in this business, it takes… Staying power.

Tell us a secret. I wear my retainer to bed.
