Where are you from? Cary, North Carolina
Broadway credits: Memphis, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.
How did you hear you’d booked your first Broadway show? I was living in Los Angeles at the time. We had finished two out of town productions of MEMPHIS (La Jolla and 5th Avenue) and then the news broke that the show was going to be moving to Broadway. Not long after that, I got a call from the show’s choreographer, Sergio Trujilo, asking me to do the show on Broadway. It was very exciting!
What is your favorite event in the Broadway community? Does Fire Island Dance Festival Count? That is my favorite benefit to work on. It raises some major money for Dancers Responding to Aids and Broadway Cares. Dancing on that stage overlooking the water while the sun is setting is really one of my favorite experiences in my career so far.
What’s something about Broadway that fascinates you? The amount of people seeing Broadway shows fascinates me. The fact that shows can run for so many years and have a new audience every night still blows my mind! Where do all these people come from?!? haha!
What, other than theatre, has inspired you recently? My friends always inspire me! Seems like every time I turn around I have a friend who is working on something really awesome and making it happen. Mo and Nikka, you are the perfect example! So, The Ensemblist! That’s the answer. The Ensemblist inspires me!
If I could have coffee with any living person, it would be… Celine Dion Or Barack Obama… It’s really impossible to choose.
If I could trade places with anybody for a day, I would choose… Audra McDonald. What’s that like?!?
To be successful in this business, it takes… A village.
Tell us a secret. I’ve never once separated my lights and darks doing laundry. Shhhh!!
